Is there anybody who has the experience to install Ubercart in a Drupal multisite platform...
1. Each site is an individual web shop, with its own theme, up to 1000 sites.
2. Each site can select the different pre-installed functions of Drupal and ubercart.
3. Share database tables across multisites with separate databases.
4. Each site installed with Google analytics.
5. Each site has its own payment account.
6. Multi-languages...Select the language from the home page or from each site.
#3 is the only one I'm not sure about... depends what tables you want to share and when. Otherwise, Ubercart will work fine just like any other Drupal module in a multi-site install. Its settings and configuration is all stored in the database for each individual site.
Thank you for your answer...,Some more Questions:
1. Which Drupal version will you recommend…5.x or 6.x ?
2. We plan to use Amazon Web Service for hosting, will you recommend?
3. Any security procedure to be installed?
4. Is it possible to add Video module into Ubercart to show the product?
5. Is it possible to add FCK editor for input of product description?
Quick answers again.
1. 5.x is the only stable version right now, so you'll have to go with it if you can't wait a month or two for the 6.x version.
2. Don't know anything about it...
3. Not sure... depends on what you're doing and how you're collecting payment. Search around here for SSL or secure pages and you'll get an idea.
4/5. These are possible through contributed Drupal modules.
How is the development of 6.x-2.x, any expect release date? I had tried to install ubercart 2.x onto drupal 6.4, but "This version is incompatible with the 6.4 version of Drupal core."
Since D6 has a big improvement on multilingual support, we will love to install D6 right from beginning, but X'mas is coming very soon...what will be your suggestion?
Thank you for your help...
Will you provide commercially supported Drupal and Ubercart similar to http://acquia.com/
I believe it will be highly welcomed and appreciated by the people like me...
Yikes! My payment methods are the same across my multisites. I change the settings on one site, they change on all sites. It is mission-critical to have different settings. Am I missing something? Should I look for trouble in the database?
Thanks.
