Using standard Paypal checkout. I've tested some $1 orders myself using paypal (not the sandbox), and they worked fine for me. Had another customer checkout and it worked great, had the paypal transaction ID as well.

Had someone else place an order and they completed paypal checkout, did an e-check, but her order status stayed as "In-checkout" instead of pending.

Just trying to figure out the rules with paypal - if someone pays by credit card through paypal, is that the only way it will result in a transaction id being recorded with the order?

And in the event of the order by e-check, was it just some fluke of either the site not getting the communication back from paypal or paypal not sending it?

echeck

Well, did another test, and it's just paypal e-checks that aren't getting a pending status... they just stay "In-checkout". Check/mo shows up as pending and CC works.

Another problem as well - I've got user creation on checkout only, and since e-check stays as "in-checkout", the new user is never created.

Re: echeck

I looked at the code, and I believe the order should've been moved to the PayPal Pending status. It could be your PayPal module got enabled before your Order module so the PayPal Pending order status was never created. Puzzled

I am having the same issue here. Money is being sent by PayPal but the order is not completing.

Same issue but new to me

I had a perfectly functioning cart but now for some reason the paypal processed payments are staying "in checkout" on the site and no notification is being sent to the store owner.

I tried adding a Conditional Action to update the order status of completed Paypal Orders to Paypal Pending (they are not automatically captured on the site) .. but that didn't work either.

Missing Transaction IDs and Payment Due not updating

I've also just started experiencing this issue.

Prior to August 25th or thereabouts everything worked and transaction IDs were received by UC once the Paypal payments were made. The order amount due was updated to 0.00 and the Order Status moved to Payment Received.

Somewhere in late August something changed in Paypal. Now, even though Transaction IDs are shown in the payment notification emails that I and customers both get from Paypal, no IDs appear in the Order details pages inside UC. Transaction ID is shown as Unknown and Balance Due is shown as the value of the order, not $0.00.

As a result, order status is not being updated. I've been struggling with this issue for days.

The Paypal developer forum shows that quite a few other people have been experiencing an issue caused by some change in the way Paypal handled Transaction IDs:

Surely if there's been such a change it wouldn't only be hitting a few of us?

Is there some order followed when enabling the Paypal module?

Ryan,

I just noticed your comment that: "It could be your PayPal module got enabled before your Order module so the PayPal Pending order status was never created."

So is it possible that this issue with Transaction IDs not working could result from enabling the Paypal module and Order module in a certain way?

For example, I recently updated to UC 2.4. Is there a rigid order to follow when re-enabling the UC modules such that not following it can somehow stuff up the way order statuses are created thereafter? I can't remember if I enabled all the UC core modules separately to enabling other modules such as Paypal. So I'm wondering if I need to go back and disable everything except core UC and then re-enable them again. Is this likely to be necessary?

No transaction ID

Infosemantics, this is my problem exactly; I didn't even know to look at the transaction ID. This is going to be increasingly frustrating, as I have ebooks going up for sale and people expect immediate access to ebooks.

Paypal confirms there is a known issue with checkout

I logged an issue about this with Paypal and after initially telling me to get in touch with my cart vendor to debug it, 15 minutes later I got another email from the same person saying: "There is currently a known issue with the new checkout not post backing data with 'rm=2'. This is a known issue that is currently being addressed."

You can read the thread here:
https://www.x.com/message/182961#182961

They add that: "You should be able to use PDT to get the transation data on the return page. Information on PDT can be viewed at:
https://www.x.com/community/ppx/pdt "

I'm not sure if this helps or not. It all depends on whether Ubercart can use PDT instead of IPN to verify the transaction has been paid.

Does anyone know if there is a way to configure Ubercart to use PDT so that my orders can be progressed automatically from Pending to Payment Received?

Does anyone actually watch these threads?

I've had this issue now for about 2 months where my orders payments are not getting recorded in Ubercart (2.4) even though the payment is made in Paypal and I receive an email notification.

Where can I find information on how Website Payments Pro knows that the payment has been made? Is there a help file or article somewhere that explains this? Is there a way to debug the information that is coming back from Paypal?

Can anyone on this forum help? I'm getting to the point where I think the best thing to do is ditch Ubercart and go with another vendor.
