UPS default packages

Sorry if this has been asked and answered. I did a search on the forums and couldn't find it. Here is the question:

Is there a reason why the only package selection that works is the "Customer Supplied Package"

The group I am working with and the person I am working with have been manually running shipping quotes and ship all of their products using either the 10kg, 25kg, or pallet packing options. No matter what we do we can't get these options to work though. I have tried different ship to addresses as well, thinking that it may have been an address that UPS can't ship to like the manual said.

Thanks for the help.

what do you mean by (to work)? Are you referring to incorrect quotes with the other package types?

When I turn on debugging information I get the following error using a 25kg package:

undefined:Hard 111212: The requested Package Type is unavailable for the selected service between the selected locations.

I know this isn't correct though. I talked to the shipping guy at the company and he is running quotes with UPS using these addresses, weights, and package types. No matter what product or shipping source and destination I use I get this error, using any package type except "Customer's Own Packaging"

Thanks for the help.
Is this what you were looking for?

I bet you have or had ecommerce installed before ubercart? This looks like an error with ecommerce and some how it's crossing over?

To answer both of your previous questions:

1. We are only interested in shipping in the continental US right now.
2. We did briefly install the eCommerce modules, but I believe that was prior to adding and products. We never used eCommerce live, just messed around with it to see how it ran. I believe I actually installed the Ubercart/Drupal package from this site after I had eCommerce (eCommerce caused quite a few problems for us). It was still using a backed up DB of Drupal though.

Is there a forum or already posted issue regarding this cross over?

Make sure there's no e-commerce tables left in your mysql database.

I looked through the DB and there weren't any e-commerce tables. I wiped them all out a while a ago. Actually I deleted the DB and installed Drupal and Ubercart over using the Ubercart & Drupal install package. The only module I added beyond what was included in that was an importer alpha, I have turned that off as well.

I feel I have missed something terribly easy on this. Just trying to exhaust all options before trying to configure every product to ship by weight. That wouldn't be too terribly fun.

The version of Ubercart I am using is 1.0-RC4, would using the 1.3 install possibly fix. I don't know if there are any UPS changes in the modules.

Just updated to 1.4 and still having the problem. Any other suggestions? I again verified that there were no eCommerce remnants around. I am just hoping that we don't need to use weight quote for everything...

Would using the "Customer supplied package" with the dimensions of the standard box sizes seriously affect your shipping quotes? I'm just thinking that UPS might be quoting you for custom packaging even though you're actually using the 10 and 25kg boxes.

I can try and change the package size and weight to equal the 10 and 25kg packages. The problem though is that every product that is set to any packaging besides customer own returns:

undefined:
Hard 111212: The requested Package Type is unavailable for the selected service between the selected locations.

Bug FinderFAQ ModeratorGetting busy with the Ubercode.

According to the UPS website, 10kg and 25kg boxes are only for international shipments: http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/shipping/time/service/value_added/boxes...

Given that you're shipping from Michigan to Michigan, I think the error message is completely accurate.

Ubercart is just returning the UPS server response, so the best way troubleshoot is to go to the UPS site, type in all your information, and try to get a quote there. If you can't, then Ubercart won't be able to either.
