As you can see on This thread, the new drupal 6 is available in beta version.

What about begining to update ubercart to make compatible with it, it could be really great to begin updating now, to be able to have a fully compatible ubercart when the Drupal 6 release will be out.

I don't know if you already begin this work, I don't know if it will be hard, long, or just some little modification will be necessary. This is the goal of this post, to talk about that.

Its already been talked about, although it is conceivable that the record of that discussion vanished as a result of the "crash of 2007." For the moment let's give these guys a bit of breathing room; the beta version of UC has not even been released, and drupal 6.0 is, as you note in beta version. Indeed, drupal management indicates that it should not be used for production.

I am confident that UC will be ported in good time; that already has been decided. Meantime, patience, please. Thanks.

Yeah, there was a thread before and I think our thoughts were something along these lines... We totally plan on updating to Drupal 6, but the task is going to be monumental and very time consuming. The reason is that three key APIs (menus, forms, and install) have been changed from Drupal 5 to 6. Anyone who's used Ubercart at all knows that most of what we're doing is creating menu items, working with forms, and using install files for all the configuration. Sticking out tongue

This doesn't mean it will be impossible, but we do want to get version 1 out the door before we start the upgrade. Moving to Drupal 6 will probably have to wait until then and we should get version 2 out the door not too long after.

As for Drupal release cycles, beta and release candidate stages usually last a couple months, so we shouldn't be too far behind. Hopefully I'll pick up some more developers at Drupalcon to pitch in the effort!

Thanks for posting the link zmove, I hadn't seen that yet. It really is great news for Drupal. Cool

well, now that Drupal 6 is officially out, what's the status of Ubercart and compatibility with Drupal 6? Any plans to get that looked in, any rough timelines, etc?

also just checking to see status if there is a new version. I just got into Drupal and installed version 6. I seen the functionality of Ubercart and was wondering if there is one that is compatible with v6.

Thanks and keep up the great work!

If you are interested in using Ubercart then Drupal 5.7 would be your choice.
