Take a look at the page I'm referring to:

http://pandapouch.com/shop/pouch

I have multiple products in a very random order with no headers seperating brands and no proper organization.

Questions:

-How do I choose the order in which the products are displayed?
-How do I insert headers/sections to separate the products into different groups on the same page?

Thanks!!!!!!

Cassandra

Re: Order of products on page/brands

You can accomplish both of your objectives with Views. You can, for example, create a view which orders those items alphabetically, by the time the node image was added to your site, by node number, by the price of each item, etc. Please take a look at my contributions (http://www.ubercart.org/contrib) for some hints.

Help doing this

As you can probably guess - I'm not the web designer. I have no clue how to do the things you are saying to do in the contrib section. Is there code that must be pasted into the catalog pages to do what I want to do or is the stuff I need already in the "modules" section of my backend on Ubercart?

Thanks -

Cass

You can do it, as a matter

You can do it, as a matter of fact. Upload and activate the modules, and follow my instructions very carefully. There is no real design involved; you are just telling the modules how to behave and how to filter your existing content. It is a somewhat time consuming process but it can be done and you will be simply amazed at how creative you can be. The grid display is built into Views and the views bonus pack, and with a little customization of the .css you can make it look just like you want. There is, unfortunately, no magic string of text that will do what you want, and I will admit that the learning curve is a little steep. If you need more assistance please let me know and I will see what I can do.

I will do as you say and get back with the results. Give me the weekend to fiddle.

Thanks!

Re: upload?

You can get them at drupal.org; just search on the name of the module in question, upload, and then activate as admin. Simple. Eye-wink

What is the name of the module then?

I need to be able to put headers to separate various products (as mentioned).

I don't really want a grid like what your site has. But I also need the ability to add products to cetain "headers" or categories when I create new products as a go.

I just want it to display like this:

HOTSLINGS:

products listed like they already are

LUCKY BABY:

products listed as they are (small box link-things)

It would even be cool if I could upload actual company logo images for the headers. Think it's doable?

Look what I mean here - www.pandapouch.com/pouch

Listen - I swear I'm not an idiot. HA! Just when it comes to this. I can easily manipulate my content management system (duh)... but when it comes to tweaking anything, which, in my opinion UC needs in some places - I'm lost.

So - what was the name of the upload and where can I find it. I searched and wasn't able to figure out where to get it.

Thanks for all your help,

Cass
