Hi all,

I have really enjoyed using Ubercart as our e-commerce solution. The inventory management and all the various reports you can run are awesome. My next question naturally is, can we use Ubercart to track ALL sales? This would be easy from an inventory point of view - just edit a product's stock level once it sells. But the sales and other reports wouldn't work because the sale didn't run through the store.

Is there a way to record a sale that didn't pass through the store?

Thanks!
Jugney

Re: Using Ubercart to track ALL sales - online and in-person

Well, you can create a customer account for in-store sales and then recreate the order on the site for everyone who purchases in person... not sure that's the simplest way to tackle it, though.

Awesome. Our in-person sales are still not a high enough volume that this method would be overly tedious. I think this will work.

Thanks!

just a suggestion

For the brick&mortar sales you could have:

- a "generic client" account that your salesman uses for everyday sales
- also specific client accounts for those regular clients who want to have a "profile" (this allows for the whole client sales history, which is good)

Ryan, is it possible to be logged in with Admin, create sales and attribute them to other accounts?
This would be good for jugney.

You can do that through the admin create order interface at admin/store/orders/create some of clients use this, and some just a a second browser open and logged out so they can enter orders through the cart process as if they were the customer. It just depends on what the client likes best.
