I just saw this on the righthand menu:

http://www.ubercart.org/statistics

Total 53521 11186 $15,931,284.37
Average 892 186 $265,521.41

I find that hard to believe. Are these stats accurate? Has anybody checked? Is there any way to even tell?

If not, why are we posting them - that could use some fixing?

If so, i better get my ass in gear and start selling some stuff? Eye-wink

If so 2, i'd hope that the bounties being presented were a lot more healthy than what i've seen in the past.

No, its not correct. For example, I once "purchased" about $55,000 of merchandise from out store when I was testing out the script.

Perhaps UC management can change "Business data" to "Business data (unverified)"

That would be more accurate.

No, there's no way to tell where the data comes from, so all of the test sites that people make are reporting in as well as the live sites that have gone up. And then there's the problem of exchange rates that don't get applied to numbers coming in from other countries, so the sales numbers are even more inaccurate than before.

I guess it begs the question. If the numbers are grossly inaccurate, why post them?

Enh, it's fun seeing the numbers change. And I believe that they're at least in the same ballpark. Sites that don't report in for two weeks aren't counted on that page, so there is some effort to keep the data current.

Edit: I just realized that the statistics module and tables had been reverted back to the pre-crash state, which is terribly out of date. I decided to just start over, so in 24 hours when everyone's cron jobs have run, the statistics should in fact be a pretty accurate picture of how many Übercart installations are active.
