As do most of you, I have a deep and abiding love for IE6, and this issue just deepens that love. For some reason, I am unable to add products or even sign in to my account in IE6 (all things I can do just fine in IE7, FF, Safari, Opera, and any other browser known to man). When I try to log in, I just get the "Access denied - You are not authorized to access this page" message. When I try to add a product to my cart, it just displays the "There are no products in your shopping cart" message. I've looked at settings in IE6 and can't see anything that would prohibit this, such as cookies being blocked. Does anybody have any idea as to what would cause this?

Thanks.

Re: Unable to login or add products to cart in IE6

Could be some weird caching issues... I know we had trouble here at Ubercart.org a while back when we updated the site. I can't begin to dream up a solution now, though... :-/

Re: Re: Unable to login or add products to cart in IE6

I am having the exact same issue. I am unable to add any items to the cart (I get the same error as above) and I am unable to login (I get the same error as above) in IE6. IE7 and above work just fine.

I am using cart links. Any ideas? This is a major issue and I will not be able to launch the site until this is fixed. This is the last issue, besides some themeing issues that need to be taken care of before I can launch my first Drupal site. Smiling

Is this issue occurring for you even without Ubercart? There's nothing in the cart links module that affects display on the site.

I am not sure what you mean. I am using Ubercart as my shopping cart and that is what is not working. All the other links work on the site (www.davianletter.com/tdl) but when I click Subscribe on the subscribe page, it says my cart is empty. If you do the same thing with any other browser, it takes you to a login screen so that you can login before checking out (and it adds the item in the cart which is shown on the right column).

This has to be an issue with ubercart or caching of some kind. Like I said, I am also unable to login but the two issues seem somehow disconnected. When I click subscribe it says "There are no items on your shopping cart" even thought the cart links work on all other browsers.

When I click login, it gives me an access denied message. Access is not required to add items to the cart so that's what makes me think these are two separate issues somehow.

Any ideas?

I'm really at a loss... I don't really have a way to test IE6 atm, but even so it's hard to believe we would've got this far without the issue coming up. It usually has something to do with the theme, but I'm not sure where you would look for that. The access denied message boggles me, and I don't really see how Ubercart is playing a part in this.

"There are no items in your cart" has to deal directly with ubercart. Anonymous users on all other browsers are able to add items to their cart.

Here is where I think the problem is SOMEHOW related to cart links. If you go to www.davianletter.com/tdl/subscribe/tdl-level-1 you are able to add the Level 1 item to your cart. This page DOES NOT use cart links. If you use the subscribe page, which uses cart links, it gives you there "There are no items in your cart" error.

Any ideas on how cart links could cause this? or how cart links could not work with ie6?

Whoa... if someone has access to IE6, please test this. I just tried it on another computer and it works with IE6. Maybe the computer I was testing it on did not have cookies enabled or something crazy??

Nope. The browser could be doing something funky w/ the cache, but really... all cart links do is run the same code that clicking the add to cart button uses. Puzzled

Just confirmed that ie6 works one two different machines. Trying to VNC in to the machine that I first noticed the issue to confirm that it has cookies disabled or something.

Just as a final update: I have confirmed that the initial machine that I tested this on did not have cookies enabled. I should have known this because it was my companies database server.

Please mark this issue as closed. If you are having this issue it is because the browser you are using does not have cookies enabled or you are running a strict firewall of some kind that is restricting 3rd party cookies.
