one thing i'm finding hard to deal with is not having attributes update for all products affected. my problem, i have some photo prints i sell right? but i wanted to make a special for a free print, i change the 8x10 price to - the actual price so it'll come out $0 in the cart, but the products don't update unless i delete and add the attribute again. granted i don't have many products yet, but if i wanted to change attributes for 1000 products, my god help me.

Yeah, this is talked about in the documentation... basically, the system atm is a template system for creation but not for updates. cha0s had a patch a while back that added this functionality (per my request), but I don't think it got added to 2.x yet. It may need to be re-rolled against the latest Ubercode, but I've attached it if you wanna give it a shot.
