I have noticed that there is a new CIM settings section in the Authorize.Net section in 1.7 of UC. I turned this on, and deactivated the old Authorize.NET CIM module to test to see what this does. Since authrozie does not have any interface to do anything with their CIM (its an API only), and I could not find an interface with Ubercart to take advantage of this CIM. What does exactly does it do for me, or my buyers?

I'm looking for a good solution to let them store and re-use credit cards, and it appears the other CIM module has not been updated since 1.4 or UC.

Thanks
Jim

Re: What do the new CIM setting in Authroize.net do?

At the moment, core support is limited to creating customer profiles upon checkout (though the initial charge will still be processed through AIM) and charging the customer using that profile at a later time from the admin credit card terminal form. You can also manually create a customer profile through the terminal form for use at a later date. Currently the benefits of this functionality do not extend to customers, and it is not yet integrated with UC Recurring. I expect the latter functionality to be picked up by the folks that sponsored the initial integration, and if someone wants to sponsor the former (customer re-use), I can have cha0s look into it.

What I would like to see

My primary focus in on repeat customers, and the ability to save and reuse a credit card is pretty standard on web sites. A simple interface that lets them re-use a card already stored at checkout would be great.

Well, at least it's pretty standard on major e-commerce sites. I totally agree it would rock for Ubercart to have this functionality, it just hasn't happened yet. Smiling

I would like to chime in on this and say that a CIM integration with UC Recurring would be, quite frankly, AMAZING. You mention something about sponsorship -- would it require funding to get this done? ie: Is it on the roadmap?? Or would is simply speed up the process?

...Speaking of Roadmaps, is there one for UC?

So the functionality of Auth.net CIM in the Beta 5 of UC (for Drupal 6) is the same, correct?

One more dumb question

How do I get to the Credit terminal screen. I know when I click on an order to edit it I can change the URL from edit to credit and it will appear, but I don't see an easy link to the credit terminal from the back end anywhere. I'm probably just not finding it.

You should see a "Process card" button on the payment pane of the order view page.

Re: What do the new CIM setting in Authroize.net do?

If i could get a quote on what it would cost to finish the CIM functionality for UC 6.x-2.0 that would be great.

module needs to work with:
-ubercart 6.x-2.0-rc3
-uc_recurring 6.x-1.0
-uc_varprice 6.x-1.0-rc3
or newer.

I dont think integration with the contrib modules will be an issue though I dont know that much about the underlying UC structure.

The module would need to:
-allow user to add/remove cards
-allow users to choose previous cards as payment in the checkout.

With our use case, a donation website, customer facing options are very important and CIM is looks to be the best option.

Thanks!
