Hello, Im having a small problem with the usps shipping. Currently everything works perfect with the quotes and everything.

I am selling DVDs and when the quantity from 1 DVD to 2 and so on is entered the price increases based off the quotation of a single dvd. So for example if 1 DVD costs $12 to ship, then 2 DVDs cost $24 and so on.

Is there a way to let it know to combine these in the same package so the shipping price doesnt get crazy? I do have "All in one" enabled in the product pagages section under usps quote method.

Thanks!

Thanks! That helps it alot,

Thanks!

That helps it alot, however there is still a big problem. This only helps when someone buys multiple of the same item.

I have 6 different DVDs for sale and if they buy all 6 the price of shipping will either be the price of 1 DVD (with all in one checked) or the price of each one separately(Each in its own package).

Is there any way to tell the system to put 2 of any DVD in the same package?

Thanks again!

No, that's not true. The USPS quote is based on the weight of the package, so if you have all-in-one checked then the package with 6 different DVDs will weigh 6 times as much as the package with 1 DVD, and the USPS quote will be higher as a result.

Ahh I see, thanks for clearing that up.

I guess this must be a problem with the way they calculate it because we use priority international flat rate envelope for shipping DVDs.

You can only fit 2 DVDs in the envelope however the quote setting is thinking for some reason that I can fit all 6 in there. So the price isnt changing based on the weight because its set to flate rate.

The reason I dont use another international shipping method is because anything else is way more expensive.

Thanks for the help!

Also, just to let everyone know, what I want works perfect if someone buys multiple of the same item.

So if I buy 4 of the same DVD, it will ship it in 2 flat rate envelopes.
However if I buy 4 different DVDs it will either think it can put them all in the same envelope, or each in their own. It would be great if I could figure out how to only allow 2 DVDs per flat rate envelope.

I'm also having this problem. For example, if I set things so Product packages is set to All in one, and have it set so that 2 books can can go into 1 envelope and 4 CDs into 1 envelope, and then someone purchases 4 books and 4 CDs then the shipping is given as only 1 Priority Mail Flat-Rate Envelope instead of the correct number of 3.

Has anyone ran into this and solved it?

Thanks!

I guess not but it seems like since we are putting in the dimensions it should be able to know what size package it could fit in. USPS flat rate boxes are a fixed size.
