I am trying to configure my ubercart store with authorize.net.. and Im a bit lost. Is there any documentation on how to do this? I now have a merchant account with authorize.net. I put in my login ID and transaction key but am not sure if I need to install any further modules, or definitely get SSL certification. Any guidence would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

What's next..

I have successfully become SSL certified and the site recognizes this. Also, I have entered my authorize.net info.. however when I go to test with fake credit card numbers, the response is always that the cc info is incorrect and that I need to fix it before processing my order. What should I be entering for the address and name fields?

Cheers
Katrina

A fake CC of 4111111111111111 will work if your site is in test mode, but Auth.Net won't let you process any fake transactions in live mode (for obvious reasons Eye-wink).

About SSl

Hi Katrina
I am not sure how you became SSl certified did you use the SSl module for drupal for getting Your pages secured. Also i am thinking of using Authorise.net services for cc transaction on the site does this module require the Site to be SSl certified.

My client have not provided me with an account yet so just wanted to ask you about your lart statement in the thread

"In order to have the authorize.net test mode process my fake transaction, I needed to set the ubercart Authorize.net gateway settings to Production Mode, awhile authorize.net was in Test Mode. Woo hoo! inching my way closer to going live."

is there a setting in the authorize.net account where you can set the account to test mode or Production mode?

please correct me if my understanding is wrong
the above statement means that your authorise.net account is in test mode and for you to be able to process order with fake credit card numbers you have set the setting of authorize.net module of ubercart to production is this correct?

I would be glad if you can please provide me with the step you followed to Configure the module on your site.Including the dependencies of this module on others if any.

Thanks in advance

regards

Steve

Re: About SSl

Yes, in your Store Admin page, go to Configuration and Payment settings, under Payment Methods, you can configure your Authorize.net settings to use Production or Test environment. I'm not sure what the difference would be here, perhaps Test mode doesn't actually post anything to the authorize.net gateway.

On the authorize.net website you also have configuration, which includes setting your gateway to "Test" mode. What Katrina was saying was that she set her authorize.net account (on their website) to "Test" but set Ubercart's module to "Production" so that the posts from the checkout page actually made it to the authorize.net gateway.

You should also put an SSL certificate on your site, as it helps to keep your customer's data safe (and also gives them peace of mind - most users will not shop if they know a store's traffic is not encrypted). They are cheap and easy to install from companies like GoDaddy.

I posted a reply to this, but then decided to change it to a new post instead:
