Hello

Whats the most popular theme to use with Ubercart?

I'm looking for both free and payed themes that features:

- simple layout / good looking
- ease of use for the end-user
- easy to further customize (change colors, add custom image header, etc)

Re: Best theme for Ubercart?

You can't go wrong with Steph's themes.

http://www.topnotchthemes.com/browse?filter0=**ALL**&filter1[]=16&filter4=

You won't find more for less, especially for ubercart.

I was actually looking at that site, but the price is a little bit too much atm.

Are you using any of those?
I would like to see "Stockholm" in a live environment.

Re: Best theme for Ubercart?

I don't know how you can say $350 is too much? Do you know what you are getting? Getting a great theme specifically done for ubercart for that price is a steal. I don't know how you would justify anything else in terms of time spent and such. Well unless you had thousands of dollars to have a custom one built.

I agree with you, it's not tooooooo much.

But at this moment, it is for this small project i'm working on.
I will probably look into it again, when the e-shop nears completion, because i liked Stockholm (too bad i can't test it further).

Anyway, any other suggestions?

Adapting themes from alternative shopping carts

This is somewhat following on from the discussion here. Given that Topnotchthemes is THE place to get one of the few ubercart themes for an ecommerce site, how easy would it be for a competent coder to adapt say an OSCommerce or zencart theme for use with ubercart?

We want to get the site up and running quite quickly and so we would like to be able to choose from the many themes that exist for other carts. I've seen a lot of themes that would be appropriate for displaying our products but they are all based on other shopping carts.

I hope this isn't too naive a question guys and I would be grateful for your advice.

Re: Best theme for Ubercart?

Thanks for the kind words, Thill Smiling

While I (obviously) am a cheerleader for the value of our Ubercart themes, I completely understand that a $300 theme isn't in every site's budget.

I think any good Drupal theme that already themes things like tables and forms nicely can be "Ubercart-ized" in a few hours, so you'd probably be best off finding a general Drupal theme that has the look and feel you want and then spend some time polishing it up for your specific needs in UC.

As for demos, most of the sites being done by our customers I've been in contact with aren't on public production sites yet, so I can't give specific URLs.

Drupal Themes

There is always the option of using the many free themes that are a part of Drupal. Most can be modified to fit specific needs. Some easier than others.

Here is a site that was done using one of the Drupal themes.

http://www.alaskahandmadejewelry.com/

Maybe not as fancy as a paid theme, but adequate for this need.

Ubercart and other shopping cart themes

Thanks Alaska, thats a good point.

However, we don't mind paying for an appropriate looking theme for our products but that's the problem. Whereas there are thousands of OSCommerce and Zencart themes for ecommerce sites, I have only found one ubercart theme and that's available from Topnotchthemes.

If the others are easily adaptable, it would give us a lot more choice from which to find a theme that matches our product more closely.

I would be very grateful if anybody can advise me on this. Thanks once again.

Are you ok with changing style sheets and whatnot? If yes, i think any Drupal theme could fit you. Start here - http://drupal.org/project/Themes

You can also request professional help either on the Ubercart Forums or Drupal Forums. There are people who do this kind of service for a living.

Another option would be to check the Live Sites - http://www.ubercart.org/site - and contact the webdevs who posted their work there.

I used Sharp Sales from Top

I used Sharp Sales from Top Notch Themes for the DIWD demo site and was highly impressed. They've added some great Ubercart specific styling into the theme. I was able to go from nothing to what you see on the demo site in less than a day's work, and having an easy to use theme made a huge difference. In other words, my opinion is that it's worth the price.

Loving your themes as well!

Of course, there's always ZEN... all you have to do is make a simple theme in Photoshop and slice it up... the whole theming process can be done in a few hours.

Heck, it didn't take me long to do it for my site http://www.killerjerseys.com

Fusion Core?

Steph, Ryan, Anybody?

Is it necessary to have Fusion Core enabled in order to use Acquia-Prosper?

The code for Fusion Core is in my sites/all/themes/fusion folder but it is not enabled. Acquia-Prosper is the only theme enabled and all seems to be working fine but I may be missing something. Is that the right way to configure it?

Thanks,
Ron

New to Drupal & Ubercart

Hi Ryan,

I'm looking for an Ubercart theme and I really like the Sharp Sales Theme. How difficult would it be for new comer like me to put together a site similar to DIWD demo site (just the look and feel &
The feature products page & etc.)? Did you have to make any modification to have HOME CATALOG DIWD NETWORK CORPORATE BLOG CHECKOUT in the menu region or placing any content in certain region for that matter?

I'm still learning. I'm able to create content type, pages, product classes & etc. But I'm struggling with Drupal Themes in trying to put content and blocks where I wanted. If this theme is easy to use and will allow me to put something like DIWD together in matter of days I don't might paying for the theme.

Thanks

Re: New to Drupal & Ubercart

I didn't have to make any modifications to the theme, actually. It comes equipped with different styles for different regions. The only thing I had to do was resize the package graphic for my front page's advertisement region, but that image comes w/ the theme and you can always just copy what I have on the demo site. Hi Ryan,

I would like to put together an e-commerce site up and quickly (something like your http://livetest.ubercart.org/diwd/). What route would you recommend for me to take?
Would you recommend using Acquia Drupal Stack? What are the difference between Acquia Prosper and Sharp Sales Theme other than Acquia Prosper is free?

Thanks for your help.

Ryan,

In Featured Products View on DIWD, for item Bottled Lightning how were you able to set the link for catalog_grid_image to be href=/diwd/catalog/category-1/bottled-lightning?

Are you using View Custom Field Module?

Re: Best theme for Ubercart?

Zen Theme is a fabulous place to start if you know something about Themeing, if not pick something from the Drupal Themes pages and try to choose something that looks well supported, as in it has been around for a while or is clearly well made to W3C standards.

Also there's thedrupalmarket.com.

TopNotchThemes does a great job, but there's definitely room in the market for more people Smiling.

Also thedrupalmarket is a marketplace so if you're a themer, you can upload your theme and make money (think apple app store but for Drupal).

Good luck in your search!

Any Zen-Sub Theme

If you need flexibility nothing beats creating your own theme. Zen is by far my favourite framework for Drupal theming because it provides you with too much HTML and CSS selectors, which make creating your theme much easier.

I worked with a TopKnotchThemes a couple times, and while it provides you with a good base, I found it less appealing than making my own with Zen in the long run.

Zen 0 hours = Nothing
Zen 10 hours = 95% Usable Theme
Zen 20 hours = 99% Usable Theme that you love.

TopNT 0 hours = 90% Usable Theme
TopNT 10 hours = 94% Usable Theme
TopNT 20 hours = 95% Usable Theme that you can put up with.

We have a few nice Ubercart themes as well

We're adding a few more ecommerce themes over the course of January and February to ThemeSnap.com. Currently, we have these two themes available:

1) Best Shopping Ubercart theme
2) Ecommerce Pro theme

We're adding another modern and clean theme over the next couple of weeks and likely another one in February!

ThemeSnap, When are

ThemeSnap,
When are your new themes coming out? We sell specialty sauces like Brooks ketchup that are very difficult to find and not sold in many stores anymore. So, a modern and clean theme is exactly what we are looking for. I think Drupal is the best platform for us right now and there isn't many themes that are specifically designed for ubercart. Getting a custom job is expensive, so we don't want to go that route if possible. Buying a premium theme just seems like the best option.

Give ThemeForest A Try

Everyone has a different taste when it comes to design.

Although, for my clients, I always give ThemeForest a try.

Here is the link https://themeforest.net/attributes/compatible-with/ubercart

I always work for me.

I prefer ThemeForest for any kind of themes. I recently purchased one theme for my own blog i.e https://vpshostingninja.com/ from ThemeForest.
