Thanks to Lyle, Ryan, Ruben, and 35+ unique contributors, Ubercart 2.0 is right around the corner. And thanks to Ruben's hard work, Ubercart.org is posed to follow their lead and make the jump to D6 as well.

Moving to D6 is a great opportunity to improve ubercart.org.

So, I'm asking:

What works well for you?
What could work better for you?
How can the front page experience be more helpful for neophytes?
What do you think will help grow the community?
What do you think will streamline adoption of ubercart from a first time visitor perspective.
What other questions should be asked?

The most positive feedback I hear about ubercart and ubercart.org is that the forums rock. They are responsive, they are easy to find, the community is supportive. Now let's make everything else on Ubercart.org rock too.

Hey everybody. Smiling I've been working on getting the upgrade working. You can check out the progress at http://ucup.ath.cx. I'd appreciate you going through and using some stuff you're used to using, and make sure it still works.

Somethings are gonna be different, for instance the look and feel of the forums (migrated to advanced_forum) and projects/issues are now using project*. Of course any suggestions on the appearance are welcome, but I'm mostly looking for "X used to work, and now it's b0rked" Smiling Appearance things can surely be handled later (and by someone more skilled than I with design...)

Thanks for your help!

I will be launching 5 Ubercart 2.0 site this week.

So far I've got:
-a one product store
-a multi product store that sells car parts
-a "song contest" site where people can post submissions and then pay for them. Using custom-price and CA, it marks the submissions as "paid." It even gives discount based on a profile field and number of submissions.
-a video site with a subscription piece using paypal + uc_recurring 2.0dev + paypal WPP patch
-Another car parts site

These are all in final stages of development! All are using UC RC3, and D6.12.

Hey, I just wanted to note that while testing an upgrade today, I think I might have messed up the db a bit. I see people are missing posts and pm's and stuff... I don't know how that could have happened since I only changed system, views, and xmlsitemap tables... but anyways I feel like I should apologize for the inconvenience it caused anyone... sorry!

Yeah, somehow the content did get rolled back, but I'm completely at a loss how that could've happened since I only imported a couple specific tables... Oh well, I can't roll it back to that state or we're just gonna lose more posts... Can you find it in your heart to forgive me? Eye-wink Shocked

If we did lose data, can we check and make sure it gets back? I'll repost my comment now.
