This thread is for resporting any problems encountered testing out ucd6.ubercart.org .

Please browse around a bit to make sure there are no major issues before we roll over, hopefully before the end of the month. It is a copy, so the latest posts to ubercart.org may not be on ucd6. We are looking to test functionality, not content. Thanks for your valuable input.

Ubercart.org on Drupal 6

http://www.ubercart.org.php5-4.dfw1-2.websitetestlink.com is basically suppose to be an exact copy of ubercart.org ported to Drupal 6. The only significant difference is that the custom code for contributions has been moved to using Drupal's project module, so please pay extra attention to that area for potential shortcomings.

Of course there are lots of improvements that could be made on the current site, but the first step is just to make a smooth transition to Drupal 6. Immediately afterward, we will start implementing new features etc... that the community makes. If you have any recommendations for how to improve Ubercart.org, please post them in this thread for the community to see, but please note that it's an idea for an improvement, not problem holding up the move to Drupal 6. Also, someone will need to implement your ideas. Don't be surprised if you are asked to help Smiling

Problem With User Registration (though likely not a new one)

It's likely the following problems you also had in your D5 version... Drupal's user reg process is really messy. So here is the feedback on your D6 reg. process. I created a new user and I have the following suggestions:

Remove the following from the welcome email:

You may also log in by clicking on this link or copying and pasting it in your browser:

http://ucd6.ubercart.org/user/reset/12442/1263573885/b19037a2d7925bdc24db66f01df1aae6

This is a one-time login, so it can be used only once.

After logging in, you will be redirected to \http://ucd6.ubercart.org/user/12442/edit so you can change your password.

Given that you allow people to set their password on reg... this whole thing is just confusing. And also, if you click on the "one-time log-in" link in the email while your session at Ubercart is still open, then you get the error, "You have already used this one-time login link. It is not necessary to use this link to login anymore. You are already logged in."

Also, at the beginning of the email, you should change the string, "You may now log in to http://ucd6.ubercart.org/user using the following username and password" to something like, "Save your username and password for future reference. Come back often and log-in to: http://ubercart.org"

Looks like you don't do any e-mail account authentication. Is that true. Have you guys been okay with the results from that? The Mollom challenge is good enough at keeping out the riff-faff?

You guys are awesome!

p.s. I didn't have time now to browse around the contrib section... Sad

Thanks for the suggestions about the registration email. We'll make the changes. Yeah, the Mollom challenge and a little moderation keep the riff-raff in check.
Cheers,
Andy

Template and download link

Two things i ran into:

The checkout page lists the address as "!STREET" which is a template problem i think.

The download link i received after Paypal payment was done gives me an "access denied" error.

Re: Template and download link

I pm'd with fjen, and the pages he is talking about is are livetest.ubercart.org. I think the core issue here is that the "demo" link pointed to livetest instead of demo. Fixed.
Thanks fjen.
