All CCK fields are deleted when disabling product module

I'm not sure if it is a bug, but still I think it shouldn't work like this.

I have a product content type, and I've added CCK fields. If I'll only disable the module (not complete uninstall), all the CCK fields are lost.

In my opinion user should get at least a warning.

I've noticed that too. I think it's a bug in CCK, and I'm guessing that there's an issue open for it on their bug tracker. It almost seems like a deliberate thing to do, though, so they may have a good explanation for it.
