Hi,

Currently, it seems that products in a product kit that are given a discount of 0 are priced at $0. I think the default for a product given a discount of 0 should no discount (in other words, the same price as the product when it's not in the kit). If you want to make a product in a product kit free, you could then make it a very small number (0.0001), so no functionality really lost there...

What do you think?

Add the product, but leave it UNPUBLISHED

What works for me in Product Collections is that I add the free product priced at $0.00 but leave it unpublished. Therefore no one can add it to their cart as a single product, but it can be included in a Product Collection. Works just fine.
