I can see that happening if pages can be put into the Catalog vocabulary, but Ubercart only sets products as the default. They don't show up if they aren't one of the vocabulary's node types.

Oversight on my part. Any content created needs to belong to a category. I just created another category not related to products added them to it and static pages are no longer orphened. Learning curve here.......and on those pages the category is showing at top..need to look into getting rid of that...
