Continuing the trend of quick beta releases, we've put up the beta 3 release on the way out of the office to enjoy the weekend. The release is mostly bugfixes and feature enhancements. It's available for download from our Drupal.org project page.
One important change is that default payment methods have been moved out of the payment module to the payment pack module. It's quite feasible that stores won't be using these (check, COD, and "other"), so this will help performance a wee-bit. If you're using these payment methods on your site, be sure to enable the new module before posting it up as a bug report.
The important feature addition to watch out for is the inclusion of credit card encryption. You should test this feature on a development site before putting it on your live site. I have included a routine to encrypt any existing CC data that can be run only once on a site. For more information, refer to this thread.
Remember to backup your sites and run update.php after installing the new code!!
As always, thanks to the many folks continuing to submit bug reports and patches. We're always in the market for those and any suggestions to improve the user interface and, well, make things easier.
The beta-do list is dwindling down, but feel free to continue discussion of any of the points there or chip into the fixing.
I hope you all enjoy your weekends, too. I'm going to enjoy Phantom of the Opera and a nice dinner with my wife.
