Well, the Livetest (http://livetest.ubercart.org) has been around mostly unchanged for quite some time. As the project has grown and contributions were submitted, it grew to become a finely bloated mess. Today, I'm announcing the new version of the Livetest has been rolled out on the soon-to-be-released Alpha 8 code base.

The most notable changes are a slightly less nerve damaging color scheme (though the Uberkid remains), a more welcoming front page declaring the purpose of the site and things to look for, and a more intentionally designed product catalog that showcases the various features of the core Ubercart.

For example, this product shows a product that may be either a physical product and a file download depending on the option selected for "Purchase type." File download features have made it into core thanks to the efforts of Shawn Conn, CpILL, torgosPizza, and others.

I'm also selling Uberfriend memberships to showcase our role promotion features, again with different possibilities based on the option selected for "Membership type." Warner Bros. Records is using this new feature to sell fanclub memberships on artist sites, and their feedback has been quite helpful! Role promotion features have made it into care again thanks to Shawn Conn and also the previous work of aymerick.

We still intend to use this as a playground for development work, but we also want it to be a little more presentable to would-be Ubercart users. Let us know if anything needs to be fixed or could be presented in a more user friendly manner.
