Ahh, the milestone at last. Today we're pleased to announce the release of Ubercart 2.0 on drupal.org! Since the last release candidate, we've fixed a few bugs and ironed out issues related to role promotions, file downloads, product kits, and more. Over a dozen people contributed patches since RC7, with many dozens more being contributors to the 2.0 release overall. Wow!
Known for its stability and flexibility, Ubercart powers the e-commerce of roughly 5% of all Drupal sites without ever hitting a final major release on Drupal 6. Even prior to this release, Ubercart 2.x has been in use for some time on a large number of sites (over 10,000 according to the usage statistics). Achieving this milestone lends that much more credibility to the project and the community around it that really makes it shine.
As many of you know, we spent last week in a sprint and at BADCamp hashing out the future of Ubercart. Look for a blog post with a little more info from me later today. We'll keep you well informed of growth as we look to the future of Ubercart on Drupal 7. It's gonna be huge.
You can grab the latest version of Ubercart and its dependent/recommended modules from our project page, and be sure to report any bugs (but not support requests) in the issue tracker. We've got a lot of patches in the queue needing review for inclusion in a planned 2.1, so if you have any extra bandwidth, you might browse the issues and lend a hand.
Three cheers for progress!
UPDATE: Turns out there's a module conflict when Ubercart 2.0 is used in conjunction with the Date module. We'll provide a patch shortly so affected sites can keep running the 2.0... it really should just take a one line workaround. Follow this issue if your site is affected.
UPDATE 2: Even though there aren't significant changes in the 2.0 final release, you should still run update.php to clear out your site caches and grab one minor database column change.
