Re: Polybonk.com
Hey, very cool site. It all looks very nice and polished. Congratulations on putting it all together so well!
Re: Re: Polybonk.com
Thank you Ryan
It's taken me a year develop this site with many big learning curves - more then I can remember! It all started 6 years ago with my now business partner wanting to break free from being a struggling artist trying to make a living from his music. It has come along way since then and were extremely grateful for projects such as this one many others.
Re: Polybonk.com
Wow Thomas, what a cool site, congrats! Specially I liked the theme and clear appearance over all. However, I remember some studies shown, that forcing users to register before letting them buy, is equal to losing business more or less 30%? ...the less we build barriers handing out their credit cards, the more business we'll make.

Re: Re: Polybonk.com
Thank you Abilnet, If I allow anonymous users to purchase file downloads I not sure how that can work. Sure a one time file download can be emailed to them but what happens if their download fails or they need to download the file again, what do they do?
Very nice! A couple
Very nice!
A couple suggestions:
Put a curved corner on the bottom of the two boxes on the right, the Browse Music By and User Login box, for consistency sake.
I find the visual hierarchy a bit confusing - make sure your text sizes cascade in order of visual importance.
Otherwise, looks great. Nice work .
Thanks jimi089 I think I
Thanks jimi089
I think I left the uncurved corners on the bottom on the side blocks only because I got lazy, I will probably get around to changing it sometime.
What exactly do you find confusing?
Thanks for the suggestions
Re: Re: Re: Polybonk.com
@tom-d ...just enable anonymous checkout at: /admin/store/settings/checkout/edit and the user account is generated automatically during the checkout (you even have some additional options to fine tune it, thanks Ubercart!). This makes a big difference in business comparing to forcing shoppers to register before accepting their money.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Polybonk.com
I fiddled around with it last night, I was amazed at how simple it was, thanks Abilnet.
Re: Polybonk.com
How did you get your products to display like that? is that a module or did you code it yourself?
Re: Re: Polybonk.com
I used Views + CCK + Swftools + Viewlist
Viewlist
Nice site! Very clean. Is the audio player part of swftools? What is viewlist? Is it a drupal module?
Thanks dkruse No the audio
Thanks dkruse
No the audio player isn't a part of swftools, I had to create a module for swftools to use my custom flash player. I have created a page with more detail about our flash player here http://www.polybonk.com/help/player if you scroll down the bottom of the page there is a more technical explanation.
The viewlist module is actually called viewfield, I use this module and cck field permissions module to display two different view tables in each node. One table is designed for single track sales and the other table is designed for subscription users. The table for subscription users looks similar to our free tracks page http://www.polybonk.com/audio/free expect they are able to download the lossless format Flac. We also use the module Webfm to handle serving the files for our subscription users.
