Re: Guillemot Kayaks
It's cool to see you guys using Ubercart! I visited your site many times while I was figuring out what kind of kayak I was going to build. I eventually went with a skin on frame, and some of the information and links on your site helped me find what I needed. If I ever decide to make a strip-built, you guys will be first on my list. One comment on the current design; the fixed width (1200px) of the theme is pretty wide - a lot wider than I normally make my browser. You might consider a variable width content area so the entire page will still be visible when the browser is not full screen.
Design Width
TR, Thanks for the feedback re the width. I'm shocked that you don't want to fill your screen with my kayaks! I originally went wide because I have a product (kayaks) that are quite long, but not very tall. If I make my images too narrow they don't have enough height to show any detail. However, looking back at how I have things displayed, I am not really using all the width I gave myself. Maybe I'll try going narrower. I really wanted to go with a liquid layout but got lost in the CSS to make it work. I decided it was time stop banging my head against a wall and get back to making kayaks.
Re: Guillemot Kayaks
Nice & informative site, congrats! However, in my opinion, you really should design for 1024px screens. If I remember right, Marinelli is 970px as default, and it fits perfectly. Now with 1200px most(?) people need to scroll horizontally and it's really annoying (sorry) and killing your business (people don't even see "Add to cart" or "Checkout" button) Other than that, nice site, I liked it very much! PS. If you need wide pictures, maybe converting them to easy to zoom, additional PDF is one solution? ...or maybe you can use pop up screen for wide stuff?
Fatal Error
Unfortunately, I am not able to reproduce the path_redirect error. Are you still getting it? Thanks for the advice on the width again. I'm currently working up a narrower version and it is working fine.
Re: Fatal Error
Yes, the same error is still there. Maybe you should try to empty cache? * Ubuntu Linux 8.04 (up to date) |
